The causal agent for Leaf Spot is Drechslera & Curvularia spp. and it can affect all turfgrass species. Turf when close mown is more susceptible particularly during drought conditions. It is seen as browning of the leaf and general thinning of the sward.
Solutions
Unless the infection is severe no treatment should be administered
In severe cases fungicides applied at label rates will prevent further spread. However, to achieve a high level of efficacy fungicides must be applied as soon as the symptoms are noticed.
Fungicides now need to be purchased and applied by a qualified person (Grow Safe certification).
